    Mark,

completely agree with you on the relationship between motherhood and relationships.

The thing that always impresses me about mothers and fathers is that it is a FOREVER life choice with all its joys and struggles.

There is no turning back really… that new life is here and a mother or father will always be that for their child – no matter how old they get! A beautiful vocation! and a lasting one!

So congratulations to all those mothers and fathers who have made this choice and given life to, care for and love their children – no matter their age!

Nurturing is like sales relationships. When I first started in business insurance sales lo 30 years ago, many said that women could not make it in commercial sales. But I always thought and it certainly proved true, that the nurturing side of women would be aprreciated by clients.

Selling is about relationships and the Mother/Child relationship is about as basic as it gets. There are lessons to be learned here.

A good direct seller takes care of, and does what’s best for their customers just like a mother takes care of and does what’s best for their child. Never thought of that connection before. Clever of you.

You are right! Sometimes I think salespeople lose track of that “mothering” feeling in a desire to make the sale. You often hear people say, “would you treat your mother the way you were treating that person?” Remembering your mother can make you a better salesperson.

Very sweet thank you. I remember having my first child and within hours I said to my husband, I get it now, I’m going to be a mother for the rest of my life. So this poor kid will be 40 and I’ll be there telling her to call me when the plane lands, or when she gets in so i know she safe and sound…Sorry Sara!
